Important steps in doing GIS analysis:
You must choose a question you want to investigate and figure out what kind of data you’ll need.
Project ideas:
Use discrete features (Mitchell, p. 12) to plot sites where different species of birds are found (with a vector model). Or represent the discrete features as a raster model if combining them with other layers from the class.

What form(s) are other class data in? They all need to be compatible.
Count the number of certain species and plot the “count” amount on the map (to show where each species is located as well as how many are present in that area). This will help show where to go to find certain birds, as well as how common they are in those areas.
